There’s not much point in making beautiful prints if you don’t have beautiful light. Bright, white, even, daylight balanced and energy efficient LEDs and we’re kind of excited about them.
A special thanks to Aline Smithson for her feature interview on Spot Photo Works’ director Kathleen Clark in Lenscratch.
SPOT PHOTO WORKS, a new contemporary photography gallery, is pleased to present photographs by artist Dennis DeHart in our opening exhibition. Please join us in a reception for the artist Saturday, August 2, 2014, 6-9pm at 6679 Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles. The exhibition will continue through September 16, 2014.
Compelled by the connections and conflicts of the natural and cultural worlds, Dennis DeHart’s images weave together a mix of landscape, portraiture and still life into pristine color photographs. During a recent artist residency in Finland, DeHart traversed the countryside extensively. The resulting photographs are heavily influenced by Scandinavian aesthetics of light, design, craftsmanship and simplicity.
Dennis DeHart is an Associate Professor of Photography at Washington State University. His work is in the collections of the Getty Archives in Los Angeles and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. This is his first Los Angeles exhibition.
SPOT PHOTO WORKS is a project by Kathleen Clark and Russell Adams.
